Our Mission

We help adults fulfill their God-given purpose through Education and Bible-based counsel.

Our Vision

To be a Bible based and Christ centered place of learning where all adults benefit to live out their God-given purpose.

Our Core Values

God glorifying – Believing in the inerrancy of God’s Word, the Bible, all creation which includes men and women, are created by Christ and for His glory. Colossians 1:16 and Revelation 4:11

Caring – All people are created in the image of God and have the right to fulfill their God given purpose which will be encouraged through a caring environment as exemplified by Christ for the World. Jeremiah 29:11 and John 3:16.

Trust – An environment of Faith is mandatory which will foster the attitude of hope, belief and trust that is essential for the possibility of changed lives and dreams once thought unattainable. Hebrews 6:12 and 11: 1-39a.

Respect – Communicating the importance of equality, fairness and respect deserved by all encourages the confidence needed to succeed. Isaiah 64:8 and Psalm 139:1-18.

Our History

Yesukan started in 2015 answering God’s call to open a learning center for adults. We have been the education center for those who never had the childhood experience of going to school. We have also served those who completed their post university graduate studies, but need help mastering their English skills of reading, speaking and comprehension.

In addition to the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) classes, Yesukan has offered Citizenship Prep; GED Prep; Computer Basics; Financial Literacy which has covered Banking, Understanding your Paycheck, Giving to God, Budgeting, Managing Money, Home Ownership, Taxes, Saving, Loans, Renting-Landlord Relationships; Financial Planning; Small Business Counseling; Immigration; Health-Fitness & Exercise; Resume Building & Job Interviewing; Mathematics; Music & Violin Basics, and more.

Yesukan is not funded by the government. We have been funded by individuals, churches, non-profit and corporate businesses. We are in the process of securing grants to assist us in furthering this ministry.

Volunteers have been the primary teachers and administrators for Yesukan. During the school year which is from January through November, we may have up to three paid teachers who have provided more stability for the students’ learning. Yesukan continues to rely on faithful volunteers, who have been able to impart their valuable knowledge and experience to the Yesukan family.

Class locations for Yesukan have been in Bonita Springs at the Café of Life, New Horizons-Rosemary, and the First United Methodist Church. We are grateful to these organizations for allowing our full use of their facilities. In the future, we look forward to having premises of our own.

Vincent and Donna Martin received the vision to begin Yesukan. Vincent had an Accounting and Business background.  He worked for the Government, multiple businesses and churches. He helped many with his knowledge of Government laws and regulations. Donna had a technical and Biblical Counseling background.  Her work experience included teaching, counseling, college admissions and volunteer management.

Yesukan Adult Christian Learning Center exists to help adults fulfill their God-given purpose.  By listening to the needs of our students and partnering with community organizations, Yesukan has added a Workforce Training Program and will continue to add classes as needed to fulfill God’s call. With God’s help and those who have navigated similar experiences of fears, failures, doubts, regrets and success, adults receive the knowledge, guidance and training needed to advance towards their life goals.
